Research & Innovation Projects

Ophiolite employs a structured approach to technology maturation, ensuring that novel innovations progress efficiently through the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) from early-stage research to industrial implementation.

In the transition from TRL 2 to TRL 4, the focus is on applied research and proof-of-concept development. At this stage, scientific principles and theoretical models are validated through controlled experimentation, enabling the assessment of technical feasibility and initial performance parameters. This phase involves material characterization, prototype formulation, and early-stage laboratory testing, ensuring that foundational technologies are systematically evaluated before progressing to more complex validation environments.

The advancement from TRL 4 to TRL 7 or TRL 8 requires the demonstration of technology under operational conditions, bridging the gap between research and commercial deployment. This stage includes pilot-scale production, industry-relevant prototyping, and large-scale performance validation, ensuring that innovations meet regulatory standards, durability requirements, and market expectations.

By integrating business model development, exploitation strategies, and intellectual property management, Ophiolite facilitates a risk-mitigated scale-up process, ensuring that emerging technologies are financially viable, technologically robust, and ready for industrial adoption.
